Sylvia Cuenca is a skillful, hard-swinging post-bop/hard bop drummer based in New York City who is best known for her long-term associations with trumpet legend Clark Terry and tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson. A recipient of NEA jazz performance grants and semi-finalist in the 1992 Thelonious Monk International Drum Competition, she has performed extensively across the U.S., Europe, and internationally with a wide range of jazz luminaries.
