Kuumbwa Jazz Honor Band

The Kuumbwa Jazz Honor Band is a Santa Cruz-based ensemble of select high school musicians from Santa Cruz County and the Central Coast region. The band studies advanced jazz theory, arranging, and improvisation through weekly rehearsals, culminating in performances at the Kuumbwa Jazz Center. Directed by David McGillicuddy, the Honor Band serves as a training ground for talented young jazz musicians who pass rigorous auditions.
