Christian McBride

Christian McBride is an eleven-time Grammy Award-winning bassist, composer, and bandleader born in Philadelphia in 1972. A teen prodigy who joined Bobby Watson's group at 17, he has appeared on over 400 recordings and performed with jazz legends including Herbie Hancock, Pat Metheny, and Chick Corea, while also collaborating with pop and classical artists. Beyond his prolific recording career, McBride serves as Artistic Director of the Newport Jazz Festival and co-founded JAZZ HOUSE KiDS, a nationally recognized nonprofit dedicated to music education for young musicians.
